MAKE / SHARE / CREATE

FV/Ceramics Studio is a space designed for making in clay – that red, earthy stuff – sharing skills and conversations, and creating objects and memories to keep us physically present in an ever more digital world.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE STUDIO

clay hand-building including pinching

Handbuilding Workshop

A session about making pots by hand – pinching, coiling, building, rolling, pressing, decorating – to relax, have fun, create, celebrate.

I run weekly pottery classes and courses in handbuilding techniques from the Studio. They are suitable for all levels of experience whether you are a total beginner or you want to improve and learn new skills.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE STUDIO

Throwing Tuition

There is a potter’s wheel in the Studio and I offer beginners’ throwing experiences to individuals or pairs.

I will guide you through all the steps from centering to opening, pulling, shaping and finally wiring off your finished pot.  You leave your pots to fire and glaze ready to collect in about 4 weeks time.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE STUDIO

Studio Practice

I have had my hands in clay for about 20 years and am now full-time in my studio. It has taken a long time to fulfill this dream and to find a place I could afford to set up.

This is why I like to give others the opportunity to get started or to carry on in their clay practice when a full-time commitment is not an option.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE STUDIO
